Agera® Skin Peel

What is an Agera® skin peel?

Agera® offers a major advancement in non-invasive treatment in the management of sun damaged, aging skin, acne and hyperpigmentation. It offers flexibility and versatility to the client. The components of the Agera® peel are vitamin C, salicylic, lactic and citric acids (alpha, beta and poly-hydroxy acids).

This is a superficial but proliferative peel that is non-irritating and will not cause the skin to shed. The treatment works deep in the skin to stimulate fibroblasts, which will produce new collagen and elastin, cells that deplete as we age. Combined with the product range these treatments can be optimised to give the most favourable outcome.

A course of at least 6 treatments is recommended, weekly or fortnightly, maintenance treatments can then be carried out less frequently.

Does it hurt?

These peels will not cause any discomfort. The treatment programme begins with a very gentle vitamin c peel and progresses to the AHA’s, BHA’s and PHA’s and increases in strength in the ensuing weeks.

Do I need to take time off work?

This is truly a lunchtime procedure. Your skin will merely present with a healthy glow after the treatment is finished and make up may be applied. The vitamin c peel may be treated as a skin ‘pep’ perhaps prior to a special event. It will improve texture and tone in just one session.

Who can benefit from this peel?

Anyone at any age can benefit. Teenage to adult acne, pigmentation through sun damage or hormonal influences and moderate to advanced aging can expect significant improvement from this system.

What is the procedure like?

The skin is thoroughly cleansed and degreased. The peel is then applied to the skin with a brush. The first layer is allowed to dry and then a second layer applied. When it has dried cold cloths are applied to the face and cold water drizzled over the cloths, this allows the peel to become active. After a few minutes the cloths are removed and any excess peel wiped off. An antioxidant serum is applied followed by moisturiser and finished with a sunscreen.
